陈霖,男,教授。现任中国科学院研究生院、生物物理研究所认知科学重点实验室主任;
中国科学院-北京医院脑认知成像研究中心主任。
1970年毕业于中国科学技术大学生物系。
1985年中国科学技术大学教授;1986年博士生导师。
1980-1983年加州大学访问学者、Sloan基金会博士后;
1988-1993年德国慕尼黑等大学访问教授;
现任北京大学心理系兼职教授、Texas大学San Antonio脑成象研究中心adjunct professor、慕尼黑大学人类研究中心extraordinary member。
八五攀登计划“认知科学若干重大问题”项目首席科学家;
1996年获“国际人类前沿科学计划”研究奖金资助;现是国家自然基金委“九五”重大项目“知觉信息的基本表达及其无创性脑认知成象研究”主持人、中国科学院知识创新工程交叉学科方向性项目“图像与语音识别的认知机理和计算方法”首席科学家。现被聘为Visual Cognition、Gestalt Theory、Journal of Cognitive Science和BrainMap编委,“International Association of The Study of Attention & Performance”顾问委员会委员。

研究方向: 视知觉和选择性注意,及其脑认知成象。
   
研究内容: 研究视知觉领域的一个最根本的问题 - “什么是知觉信息的基本表达?”。研究涉及到视知觉组织、选择性注意、动态记忆和知觉学习等不同认知层次的广泛问题。近年来强调发展脑认知成象新领域,把功能磁共振成象、高分辨脑电定位、以及磁共振成象和脑电定位的结合应用到上述知觉领域各种问题的研究。研究的目标是建立在世界上占一席之地的,既具有科学准确描述又具有生物学约束的不变性知觉理论(特别是知觉的拓扑结构和功能层次的理论)。
