Professor Weizhi JI, Director of Kunming Primate Research center, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and director of Yunnan Key Laboratory for Animal Reproductive Biology, is engaged in researching on primate biology. His research interests cover many areas in reproductive and developmental biology. In recent years, the major studies focus on the regulation of oocytes maturation, development and differentiation of early embryos as well as somatic cell nuclear techniques; cryopreservation of germ cells (oocyte, sperm, and embryo), non-human primate cloning and establishment and directing differentiation of primate embryonic stem cells.
