王宗阳，研究员，博士生导师。上海川沙人，1961年毕业于上海科学技术学校。1961年进中科院上海植物生理研究所工作，1961年至1987年主要从事微生物生化与微生物遗传、细菌耐药性、细菌转座因子等方面的研究。1987年至今主要从事植物分子遗传，水稻基因表达调控方面的研究工作, 通过顺式作用元件和反式作用因子的分离和它们特性的研究，了解水稻基因表达的调控机制。1985年因“微生物杀虫剂、生产工艺的研究”获上海市科学技术进步奖三等奖；1987年因“细菌转座子的研究”获国家自然科学奖四等奖；1997年因“水稻蜡质基因的克隆、结构分析与表达调控的研究”获中科院自然科学奖一等奖。
